Here’s another Linux on PlayStation 3 installation guide (Yellow Dog Linux specifically) from TweakTown:
There was a lot of noise in the beginning of the PS3’s marketing-hype-launch that the console would have Linux pre-loaded, but Sony came to their senses when they realized how much more work that was going to be for them.

Whether it is a big or small update, every month AMD releases a new Catalyst package for both Linux and Windows for their supported ATI Radeon products. Last month in the Catalyst 8.01 Linux driver the changes had just consisted of a few bug fixes and nothing more. Today the Catalyst 8.02 Linux driver has been released, and like last month, it's short on the change-log. The fglrx changes are very brief and the driver version is still in the 8.45 release stream and wasn't even bumped to 8.46.x.

"ARAnyM is an acronym: Atari Running on Any Machine. It is a virtual machine software for running the Atari ST/TT/Falcon operating systems (TOS, FreeMiNT, MagiC and others) and TOS/GEM applications on any kind of hardware - be it an IBM clone (read it as "PC" :-), an Apple, an Unix server, a graphics workstation or even a portable computer.
In short: much faster graphics output, Mac OS X supported better than ever (JIT on IntelMac, networking and more!), coming with ARAnyM logo+icons and usual bunch of bug fixes and improvements."
